If the save runs slowly in the new folder, then the issue is probably the save itself and not anything else. Here's a list of everything in your Sims 4 folder, so you'll know what you might want to keep and what you can discard: Keep testing though, in case something makes the game slow down again. If it works well, then the save is fine, and you can start adding other files from the old folder to the new one. (Since you're copying and pasting, you can use the spare copy for experiments while the original is still intact in the old folder.)
